Snappi’s, Prefolds And Pins Oh My!
One of the easiest ways to get started with cloth diapers is the old fashioned prefold! Some prefolds, pins or snappi and a few covers and you are good to go. In fact this happens to be my method of choice. I prefer the prefolds because they can be used through a lot more sizes than fitted and AIO’s.
I think the Snappi is one of the greatest cloth diapering related inventions EVER! I mean really why couldn’t I have thought of that? There is nothing easier than a Snappi. You just learn a quick fold that you prefer and snappi that sucker on! I myself prefer the bikini twist.
If you have a child that likes to take off the diaper you may want to go with the tried and true diaper pin. Diaper pins are the old way of fastening a diaper and still a preferred method by many people.
So you have your prefolds, snappis and diaper pins. You just need a few covers (I myself prefer wool) and you are almost set to go. Grab yourself a kitchen garbage can and a pail liner throw a diaper pail deodorizer in there to keep it all nice and fresh!
Cloth diapering is really very easy. It’s good for your baby and good for our Earth!
Now on to the giveaway! We will have 3 winners! We are giving away Natural Unbleached prefold diapers, Snappi’s, diaper pins, and diaper pail deodorizers!

“I always have extra prefolds in my diaper bag and have used them for various things at any give time: burp cloth, cleaning up spills, for a game of peek-a-boo, to cover little toes, changing pad, a place to sit on when doing an impromptu picnic at the playground, a placemat, and whatever else I may need.
Can you imagine what McGyver could do if only he carried prefolds?” Veronica
(on a personal note- That would make for an interesting show McGyver and prefold diapers!)

I’ve heard many people say that prefolds make excellent burp cloths as the material is so absorbent. As for diaper pins, I actually have been using them for a long time for myself to pin through the many layers of a sari on the rare occasion when I wear one. : )

As for the snappi… my children love to use them to keep their capes(blankets)closed around them. It really does work great and they can do it themselves.

prefolds do make great burp cloths!
could they also be cut to use as cloth wipes? why not?
or kitchen rags.
or tie-dye ‘em and use them as baby blankets for the baby dolls.

i tie old prefolds on my swiffer, instead of buying the disposable swiffer pads. Old prefolds make great dust rags too.

Prefolds are very useful. I always carry old (super-clean) prefolds to use them in various ways including: teething clothes-freeze them for a while to make them extra soothing; squishy toys-change the shape by rolling them diagonally into a long tube, making knots at 2 ends, or tie a thin one into a tight ball; layer a couple for a portable changing pad; keep your swings/bouncers free of spit-up by placing one under baby’s head; also, use 1 or 2 as a buffer when trying out (or using) public/shared baby swings/bouncers/benches.
Prefolds are our prefered night time diaper with a great cover! The snappi makes this simple and quick to put on a squirmy 4 month old baby!
