Crafting For The Holidays
The gifts I love the most are the handmade gifts. I love the uniqueness of it all. It’s so nice to know that someone really put time and effort into the gift. It’s something you cherish instead of tossing in the closet.
We try as much as possible to go handmade for Christmas as well as any gift giving time. I always have the girls make cards for people and they seem to really enjoy that the card was made for them. Much better than spending $5.00 on a piece of paper with words written by someone else.
We have 2 great crafting books for you as a giveaway today! You can use them for inspiration in creating some lasting gifts that can even be passed down as family heirlooms.
50 Sensational Crochet Afghans & Throws by Bobbie Matela and Quilt Block Leftovers: Clever Uses for Spare Squares by Sarah Phillips.

“I’m not sure what we’ll be making this year, but we’ve done blankets and pillows in the past, wax critters, soaps, candles, magnets, and some others. We love to make things for others!” Stacie A
Wrap Your Baby In Warmth And Luxury
Minky…need I say more? If you’re like me, you walk through the fabric store down the minky aisle and let your hand brush it as you walk by. It’s one of those things you have to touch. It’s soft, warm and oh so luxurious! Minky is the perfect fabric to have against your baby’s skin. I really don’t think there is anything that is quite like it.
As a person who sews a lot, I have to tell you that Minky is not easy to work with! I would rather have someone else sew my Minky needs for me. I about cried and pulled every hair out of my head when I made my nephews Minky Blanket.
Dressy Dribbles has some very awesome Minky items! I have been drooling over the minky carseat covers today. Minky and Satin? How amazing does that sound for your little one? They also have some great Minky and Satin Blankets. I want one for me, a giant sized Minky blanket to wrap up in on this cold nights.
I am absolutely loving the Camo Minky with Orange, as well as the Pink and Brown. Ohhhh how I wish I were just a reader so I could enter this fabulous giveaway! Yep you guessed it! The giveaway for today is a Minky Blanket from Dressy Dribbles of your choice. The winner can pick any blanket!

Snappi’s, Prefolds And Pins Oh My!
One of the easiest ways to get started with cloth diapers is the old fashioned prefold! Some prefolds, pins or snappi and a few covers and you are good to go. In fact this happens to be my method of choice. I prefer the prefolds because they can be used through a lot more sizes than fitted and AIO’s.
I think the Snappi is one of the greatest cloth diapering related inventions EVER! I mean really why couldn’t I have thought of that? There is nothing easier than a Snappi. You just learn a quick fold that you prefer and snappi that sucker on! I myself prefer the bikini twist.
If you have a child that likes to take off the diaper you may want to go with the tried and true diaper pin. Diaper pins are the old way of fastening a diaper and still a preferred method by many people.
So you have your prefolds, snappis and diaper pins. You just need a few covers (I myself prefer wool) and you are almost set to go. Grab yourself a kitchen garbage can and a pail liner throw a diaper pail deodorizer in there to keep it all nice and fresh!
Cloth diapering is really very easy. It’s good for your baby and good for our Earth!
Now on to the giveaway! We will have 3 winners! We are giving away Natural Unbleached prefold diapers, Snappi’s, diaper pins, and diaper pail deodorizers!
And the winners are…

“Our daughter has severe eczema. When she was a baby we used to use diaper pins to pin socks over her hands (to the sleeves of her pajamas) to keep her from scratching.” Analisa R

“you can cut the prefolds and make mama pads, or you can sew them and make them a fitted, Burp cloths, oh and the preemie ones make great rags for cleaning up spills.” Christi
Comment #10
“I always have extra prefolds in my diaper bag and have used them for various things at any give time: burp cloth, cleaning up spills, for a game of peek-a-boo, to cover little toes, changing pad, a place to sit on when doing an impromptu picnic at the playground, a placemat, and whatever else I may need.
Can you imagine what McGyver could do if only he carried prefolds?” Veronica
(on a personal note- That would make for an interesting show McGyver and prefold diapers!)
