Decades ago pieces of cloth carefully folded around a baby’s bottom was all it took to keep baby and parents happy. Then we entered the disposable society of paper napkins, styrofoam plates and gel filled diapers. Natural parenting practices are still out there and are making a welcomed come back!
Happy Baby Company has spent the better part of the last two years bringing cloth diapers back to the Pittsburgh area. Their new showroom in the Robinson Township area allows their clients to see, touch and feel the diapers for themselves. The showroom features a rainbow of colors on the wall of amazing organic, bamboo and other natural fiber diapers. There is a playroom to entertain your children as you shop. A changing table allowing you to try the diapers on your child to see the fit for yourself and a restroom featuring a diaper sprayer ready for demonstrations.
We were able to sit down with Adam, co-owner of Happy Baby Company, at the grand opening of A Mother’s Boutique and he shared with us some features of two of the dozens of diapers they carry.

While I can’t prove it’s linked to cloth diapering, I believe our early potty training is a result of kids being able to tell when they’re wet in cloth diapers! Love early, easy potty training!

There are so many things I love about cloth diapering! I love that we’re not adding diapers to the landfills, I love that my son has soft cloth against his skin all day instead of scratchy paper and chemicals, and of course, I think cloth diapers are just really CUTE!

I will be cloth diapering the little one I am expecting – the one who is kicking me really good right now! The part I am most looking forward to is knowing that what is up against my baby’s skin is all natural, no chemicals, washed by me & that we won’t be causing harm to the enviroment with our diapering.
I would like try and will probably purchase a few of the Kissa’s Cotton Fleece Fitted for newborns to get me thought the begining tiny phase.
