Dear Boys {oct 28 2010}

It’s the eve of Karter’s birthday and seeing his excitement to be turning five got me thinking. Once we hit 21 years old we really start looking at birthday’s differently. As children we can’t wait to hit that next mark – double digits, teens, able to drive, able to vote, and then the final mark – twenty-one.

From there it’s “all downhill”. Party decorations go from festive to grave-like. There is a sadness that grows with each year.

Birthday’s are not suppose to be a tear-fest. Instead it’s a celebration that you are still alive. That God has blessed us with one more sunrise. One more chance to change the lives around us.

I never want you to forget or loose this feeling, this incredible anticipation of tomorrow. Grasp at it and never let it go!

Love,

Mommy
