We all want to live a more natural lifestyle so we caught up with Eco-licious Mama, Rachel, and asked her a couple quesitons you may want to know.
My motivation for being an eco-licious mama is my one year old daughter, Haylee. Everyone says that everything changes when you have a baby and for me, the health of my family became my first priority. It became my mission to make sure that everything I use in my house is safe, healthy and chemical-free.
What is your favorite eco-friendly cleaning product?
-
My favorite eco-friendly cleaning product is Shaklee’s Organic Super Cleaner Basic H2. I love Basic H2 because it is non-toxic, chemical free, safe and it works better than many chemical cleaners on the market. It is extremely concentrated which saves you money and saves thousands of bottles from entering the landfill. One bottle is equal to over 5,800 bottles of Windex. This one cleaner has over 1,000 uses and it makes up three seperate spray bottles of cleaner: window and mirror cleaner, degreaser, and all-purpose cleaner.
When finding cleaning products that are not only eco-friendly, we want them safe for our children. What tip can you give our readers to make the best choices when looking for cleaning products?

It is important that whichever type of cleaner you are using around you and your family, it should always be labeled non-toxic. There are many chemicals and cleaning products sold at the store that have never been tested for toxicity and sadly, we continue to bring these toxic chemicals into our homes. The words green, natural, and eco-friendly are becoming so popular that you see these labels on almost everything. A green or eco-friendly product usually means that it is safe for the environment, it is biodegradable, or it has been recycled. None of which means that it is particularly safe to use around your family. The word, natural, does not always mean that it is 100% natural or safe, so be cautious, educate you and your family about what ingredients to look out for and always read the ingredients on the label. Chemical cleaners in our home out gas chemicals into the air even when they are closed and sealed and can negatively effect our health. Always choose non-toxic and chemical free products when you are going to allow any cleaning products to enter your home or be around your family.
