Can I just say how proud I am of myself? About 5 days ago I made myself a short list of three things I can change easily and now. While I haven’t met all three goals on a regular and daily basis I am making strides. Here’s the kicker – myself, husband, and my three kids have all had horrible colds during the last five days. So even while I’ve been sick I’ve made it a point to stick to making lifetime changes.
Let’s review my goals and where I’m at just five days later:
- Drink at least 60 oz of cool, refreshing H20 daily – While I don’t think I’ve been getting 60 oz. I have been making more of an effort to ‘down’ a full glass of water when I remember. I also have been getting at least 1 – 1 1/2 bottles of filtered water. My water bottle is 18 oz so that’s about 18 – 27 oz right there. I’ve also been having about 4-6 oz of Acai or pure orange juice daily.
- Add 1 more serving a day of fresh fruits and vegetables – This is by far the goal that I have not come close to meeting, yet it’s been one I’ve been working on for a long time. First I just haven’t felt much like eating to begin with being sick. I also haven’t been making smoothies like I had planned on. I did get a giant bag of carrots, frozen fruits, bananas, etc so we are ready to go. This afternoon seems like a great time for a fruity snack. I’m also trying to keep my list of healthy foods to eat in mind daily!
- Doing at least 1 mile of Walk At Home daily – I’m sad about this goal, yet I feel really good. Even though I haven’t popped in the DVD’s yet I have been doing something. Yesterday and today the kids and I did some MAJOR dancing and grooving to music. Not only did I work up a sweat so did the boys so I know we were all moving our bodies really well. We went through about 10 songs so that’s about 40-55 minutes!
So have I met my goals – I say YES. Have I completed them and stuck to them? Only tomorrow will tell.

That is so awesome that you were actually able to jiggle with the kids even though you were sick. Amazing. When I’m sick I just lay there and go bleh… LOL.

Keep up the great work

Well, Saturday was totally a bleh day! I never left bed – well except for potty breaks. Today was nice cause I could breath through one whole nostril and danced!
LOL Keepin’ it real.

WTG girl! You’re on the right track girl. I know it stinks trying to work out while sick (both of my nostrils are plugged right now). I battled myself for an hour before making myself do my first session today. Then battled myself again to finish it up. I was so glad I finished though.

Awesome!! You did more than me! I just danced with the kids for an hour. But at least I did that – something is better than nothing!

I LOVE your goals! Those are great goals and simple enough that you aren’t setting yourself for failure. You’re setting yourself up for health! I hope that even if you don’t meet a mile of walking… that you make it a point to do something active each day. Be well my friend! xo
