I’m up to trying anything new at least once. This is one of those times that it will remain at one time. I’m not new to the cloth feminine pad world so I did have some expectations. Out of the package the GladRags were soft just as I’d expect flannel to be. On the underside of the pad (side facing your undergarments) there is a large opening to put the absorbent inserts into. I found the pad casing was much larger then the inserts. I had to stagger the placement of the inserts just right to get the coverage I was hoping for.
The inserts were not that absorbent as the website claims them to be. They either need to be larger and similar in size to the pad casing or they need to include 3 inserts instead of 2.
I did like the snap closure. Those familiar with feminine pads know that those with wings usually have a sticky side to secure them to your undergarments. That sticky side usually doesn’t hold very well. With cloth pads the wings have a snap on them so they are wrapped completely around your undergarments and snap wing-to-wing. I do like how this feature is on cloth pads, but not so much on these. The snap used on the pad I received was metal. I noticed after soaking with the cloth diapers that it was very tarnished. I can only imagine what normal wear and washing would do to the metal snaps. Perhaps if they used poly resin snaps similar to those on many cloth diapers it would hold up better. So all in all they could be much better- especially since this ONE pack of pad holder and two inserts retails for $16.49 USD according to the GladRags website.

Why not a 1? It did have some good qualities- like organic cotton, recycled packaging, and a good concept.
