In celebration of it being National Green Week my friend Karla of Bond With Karla and I have decided to giveaway a few of our favorite green items.
We are by far not the greenest ladies on the block but we are trying to make small changes on a daily basis. Little things like turning off the lights, unplugging the cell phone charger, and making sure the recyclables make it to the can with the arrows instead of the trash.
So what’s up for grabs? How about some kid friendly toothpaste and two items to help you with your cloth diapering days!
Imse Vimse Diaper Pants Soft Diaper Cover
The Imse Vimse Diaper Cover is one of my favorite covers {above featured image} to go over a fitted diaper. I have used the size XLarge with my night wetting toddler and it fits like a glove. It keeps the moisture in yet still allows the air to move around – and when the kiddo is sick the leg gussets keeps the icky in!
Green Acre Designs Hemp/Organic Cotton Insert/Doubler

If you have been around the cloth diapering world (yes, we have a world of our own at times!) you know the abbreviation – GAD. A much sought after product known for it’s long lasting quality and it’s ability to absorb and then some. This diaper insert can be placed inside a pocket diaper or laid on top of a fitted diaper to add more soaking power. With it’s natural fibers you don’t need to worry about your little ones precious skin touching anything synthetic.
Tropical Traditions Tooth Cleaner

Using their own combination of natural ingredients Tropical Traditions has developed a organic teeth cleaner that is effective without that sugary taste of commercial brands. Karla has been doing many reviews on the Tropical Traditions line and has had a great experience with the products – watch for her upcoming full review on the tooth cleaner too.

I would love to be able to go green with diapers but can’t afford it. Would love to try this diaper!
Heidi,
There are many affordable options out there – prefolds with covers is an inexpensive way to get started. Also sites like DiaperSwappers.com have ‘for sale or trade’ forums that allow you to purchase gently used or new diapers often at 50-60% off the retail price. If there are further financial limitations you can also try applying to wonderful charities like GivingDiapersGivingHope.org in order to receive cloth diapers for your little one.
