Thankfully, my nephew is here working in the area and thought to bring his Wii along for our enjoyment. Just as thankfully, my mom is out of town for a few days so I’m borrowing her WiiFit. Yesterday was my first day trying it and I “banked” 21 minutes. I have to say that I was impressed and annoyed at the same time.
When you start up the WiiFit it will go through and get your stats so you have your starting point. It’s really shocking having a “game” tell you that you are obese! Seriously, I wanted to turn the darn thing off and have a bite of ice cream – but that’s not a challenge- that’s giving in to old ways!
Instead I went through and kept on trucking! I found out that my WiiFit age is 26, so it’s saying that I’m actually one year less then my actual age- how rockin’ is that! [Then I did the Wii age after I was done with my 21 minutes and this time I was 32!] One thing that I really did not like is that at the end of each exercising task is that you have to go back to the menu to start the next. I was really hoping that it would just start me out with a little stretching then get right into the meat of the workout run through a number of items to get my heart rate up then do a cool down. That was the annoying part!
I was ready, and wanting a sweat- instead I got a “step on, menu, workout, go back, workout, go back”. I wonder if the new EA Sports Active will be different if it will start you out and go right through a workout without having to constantly return to the main menu and pick another task.
Now, I think it’s time to go and check out the really awesome site – Wii Mommies!

#1 Nice to meet you!

Once you have worked with it for a while, it will start to build a Favorites menu of the activities that you use most. Once that list is built, you’ll be able to crank through a workout really quickly, without going back to the main menu.
Burgh Baby’s last blog post..Not Whining. Nope.
Okay- did not know this! I’m sure though there will be lots of things that I’ll figure out as time goes on. Although I don’t know how long I get to borrow all of this
I know I’m really out of shape; that’s no surprise. However, I’m in my early 20′s and the WiiFit said I was 50+!
Wow, that’s a big difference. Have you done the WiiFit lately? Has your Wii Age changed?
