I used to think suds were important for getting the cloths clean, but my cloths & especially towels seem to be lasting much longer since we switched to the HE washer & HE detergent. My husband thinks the more detergent you put in the cleaner clothes gets also. It just wastes more water. Sometimes I have to rinse the clothes twice to get rid of the soapy residue. I still have the very wasteful top loader and it stinks because I can't even get stuff at the bottom-I'm too short! So I definitely need to get a front loader...lol Pretty interesting! I had no idea there was anything like this. I am sure I have seen HE detergent, but I never noticed it really. I am going to switch right away, but we have a very effecient washer.
