This afternoon we headed into the city with all the ‘big buildings’. Parker was so excited to get to see the skyscrapers and then when we walked into the CONSOL Energy Center his little jaw dropped as he looked around admiring the view.
Since this was Parker’s first time to any type of a show we really wanted to treat him special. He ordered a favorite of his corn dogs and french fries. While mommy had a delicious turkey wrap from the concession stand. Daddy was a little more cheesy with nachos – Mmmm!
Right before we went and ordered our food Marty had Parker peek into the open arena of the building. It was mostly empty so he really got to see how big it is. I’ll never forget those huge saucers for eyes as he turned to daddy and in total awe breathed “That’s so cool. It’s bi…g”
Our seats were not bad. Close enough that we could see the fur of the costumes but far enough away we were able to take it all in. My only issue with our seats is we were at an angle to the stage so the main screen that “The Cheese” called in on we could not see it. Thus we missed some key events of the show.

The people selecting the seats should have filled up the center before moving off to the sides. When you get your seats on Sunday try to get ones in Section 106-108. If those are all taken Section 105 and 109 is also a good option.
It was funny listening to all the parents each time Big Bird announced that the show was getting closer to starting. “{slight squeal} Three more minutes…it’s almost time!” I have a slight suspicion that we were just as excited as all the kids – if not more!
As the show began Parker just watched in amazement. Not sure what to do when other kids around us joined in and danced, clapped and stomped their feet. We did get some movement with startled jumps as the cannons shot out confetti a few times throughout the show.
Super Grover has lost his super-ness and Sesame Street needs a hero! Never fear, the fabulous five Super Heroes are here — featuring Elmo as Captain Fuzzy! Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and all their friends are on a quest to put the “super” back in Super Grover. Singing and dancing their way through fun lessons on healthy habits, they discover how exercise, rest, nutritious food and good hygiene can save Super Grover — and turn your children into Super Heroes, too!
Marty and I had fun trying to remember the not-so-famous characters that call the cloudless, sunny street of Sesame home. The show was a comfortable length with a nice 15 minute intermission perfectly timed for all the tiny bladders. Although, the balloons and pendents could have waited till after the second half as we saw quite a few float up into the rafters as a parent dragged a screaming child out of the arena.

We ooohed. We awwwwed. We rooted for Grover. We danced. We clapped. We went coo-coo. We even shook our backsides.

#1 Nice to meet you!

I would love to take my grandchildren to a Sesame Street Live show, we have to travel 2/3 hours to be able to see one. I would enjoy it too.
