It’s summer time and that means grills fired up and hot dogs a burnin’! Today for lunch my husband and I were in the mood for such the summer classic of some hot dogs and chips.

I wanted to take the dog to a slightly healthier level – I added some baby spinach. That’s right baby spinach leaves. It wasn’t that bad, actually it was pretty good. I think next time I”m going to ditch the bun and go for larger leaves and perhaps a Tofu dog or at least a Turkey dog.

**please excuse as a talk with my mouth full!!!**

Hey! I’m so proud of you…way to get your veggies in! Spinach is one of the most nutritious things you can eat everyday. Another great add-in is blueberries and non-fat non flavored yogurt instead of sour cream for veggie dips…you go girl!

@Fiona – You know there is something about a hot dog that just hits the spot – I’m loving all the great organic options out there now. I use to say that I “hated” hot dogs but smelling them on the grill and the way my hubby cooks them…YUMMY!
