As a Christian mother of 3 young kids, I am always looking for ways to entertain them without the negative effects that come with video games or useless shows on TV. Today, the cartoons that are on TV are terrible!
I have flipped through the channels and seen violence, nudity, and even swearing on the cartoon channels that I thought were channels for children! I was on a search to find something for my kids to watch on a rainy day that they would learn something from. Just when I was beginning to think that I would not find anything, I received in the mail the VeggieTales Robin Good movie to review!
This is PERFECT, I thought! I was thrilled! I had heard about VeggieTales Movies and was very eager to let my kids watch it.
My daughter, who is 4 was excited as well. Later that night, we all gathered in the living room, popped a big bowl of buttery popcorn, and put the movie in.
The Story Behind Robin Good
Robin Good and his fearless men set out on a mission: To help people by fundraising from the rich to give to the poor. (Sounds like a good concept, right?) But they soon realize that things can turn very bad and feelings get hurt when a greedy prince comes along. I won’t give away too much of the story because I highly encourage you to watch it!
After the movie was over, we discussed stealing, giving to people in need, and how easy it is to hurt someones feelings. This, of course led to many questions from a 4 year olds mind, but this movie taught her many important lessons and at the same time, kept her attention! Who would have thought something so educational could keep a child’s focus so well??
The So Merry
This was a cute, Christian based movie that taught some very important lessons to my kids which I LOVED! Before I received this DVD, I had never watched a VeggieTales movie before. It kept the attention of my easily distracted 4 year old and even sucked in my 11 year old as he walked through the room. Now THATS a great movie! I loved that there are a TON of other VeggieTales movies available for me to get…Each with a different cute lesson incorporated. They are affordably priced and widely available.

The Not So Merry
Honestly, there was NOTHING I didn’t like about this movie! If I had to come up with something negative (And this really isn’t all that bad) it would be that my daughter loved this movie SOOOO much, that we literally had to watch over and over. She asked for her “Veggie Movie” as soon as she woke up and the minute it was over, she yelled “Again! Again!” Her little eyes would be glued to our TV all day if I allowed it. Soon the weather will be nice and I will be finding some outdoor actives for her to do though. She seems to want to do nothing anymore but watch VeggieTales which isn’t bad per say but mommy is getting a little sick of it! Yes, I probably could recite it word for word if asked!
Problem Resolved
I will be purchasing some MORE VeggieTale DVD’s very soon! I better hurry though, as she just might wear this one out before I do! Thank you VeggieTales for a GREAT show for my kids!

Hello. My name is Alaina and I'm a app junkie. whew... I feel better. I'm raising four boys to be outstanding husbands and spectacular human beings. Thanks for stopping by and finding that little something to giggle about with me!

I agree 110%!! We have been a Veggie family for many years now. Our oldest is 11 and still loves them. Our little one is 5 and of COURSE loves his Veggies! As a VERY openly and proudly Christian family, we are thrilled that there are videos like these out there. We do not have cable. There is just absolutely nothing positive about television now. And if you do find something decent to watch, it’s the commercials that will get you! So, we opted to buy stuff like- Bob the Builder and other very decent dvds. But, being that they are still from a ‘secular’ world, you still deal with stuff like Halloween and other ungodly things, from time to time. With Veggie Tales, you can feel SAFE leaving the room, knowing nothing indecent will be shown in front of their precious tiny eyes. And THAT is a true blessing in this day and time!!!! I praise the Lord for Veggies!!!♥♥♥
i love that the movies are so captivating for all ages and teach good values.
My kids love VeggieTales (in fact, Grandma took Michael and me to VeggieTales Live last Friday)! They are so much fun and teach christian values.
If VeggieTales Live ever comes to my area I wil be there!
I love that they're Biblically based!
So do I Deborah! Its so hard to find good kids movies that are both educational as well as Christian-based.
